Port of Golfo Aranci

About Golfo Aranci, Guide and Tourist Attractions
(Golfo Aranci, Sardinia, Italy)

The town of Golfo Aranci lies on the Costa Smerelda, 20 km / 12 miles northeast of Olbia. It is located between the train station and ferry port, which runs services to Civitavecchia.

Due to the port's connections to the Italian mainland, Golfo Aranci occupies an important position at the centre of Sardinia's tourist routes. This ex-Aragon run town became an important trading port at the turn of the 20th century.

Today, Golfo Aranci, with its many beaches, has turned itself into a prime bathing resort. The Golfo di Marinella is very popular with tourists because of its austere natural beauty, white beaches and marvelous rock formations. The magnificent enclave, flanked by Monte Canareddu and Monte Maiori, is a true Mediterranean environment, green and lush, and set on granite shaped by the water over time. The church of Nostra Signora del Monte sits 150 metres above sea level and offers a spectacular view of the surrounding area.

Golfo Aranci's beaches are the other main attraction, while the area's hotels are the source of most of the evening's relaxing entertainment.
